Bad start to the season

Friends United CC suffered triple losses over the opening weekend of Saturday and Sunday League.

On Saturday 6th May Friends United CC lost game to Pinner Challengers in Division 3 despite making good start with ball and a superb 82 from Bharat Damania.  Their inability to occupy the crease cost them the match as apart from Bharat top 4 batsman didnt contribute many runs.

On Sunday 1st XI loss their game against SLC in MPCL Division 1 despite having match under their control for the most part.  Batting first they raced to 96-1 in 10 overs with help of Jibran (56 runs) and Jigar (35) but then a collapse meant a good run a ball 46 from Prabhjot went to waste as they were bowled out for 171 in 30 overs.  In reply they reduced SLC to 96-7 but then dropped 2 catches and stumping of MoM Rajindu Rodrigo as he smashed 80 not out to win the game in last over for SLC.

Second XI loss their game against Diu Daredevils 2nd XI as DD recovered from 47-4 as Nikhil Vaja destroyed the top order with 5/27 which included a Hat Trick also, to post 167 all out as some relaxed fielding and 51 extra runs cost the match for Friends United.  Chasing 168 Friends United were bowled out for 129 despite battling 46 from Shudhir Vinodkumar.
