Match report Friends United put their promotion dream back on track by winning this absolutely thriller in last ball of the match.

Division 2 leader Dharmaj won the toss and choose to bat first. Dharmaj openers begin well by scoring 30 in first 6 overs but then Ramesh took a brilliant catch at short mid-off to dismiss Rishi from Dinesh bowling. Then on new star Sudhir took 3 wickets to hamper Dharmaj progress as he removed their star player Prinay with a beautiful in swinger. Mohit and Devang played very well and look set to take score to 200 but then captain Yogesh handed ball to Dharmik Premji, a 16 year old left arm spinner in his first ever competitive game, and he bowled like a dream as he dismiss Devang to a superb catch and then took 2 more wickets in next over to check Dharmaj progress. Dharmik finished with 3/24 in 8 overs. Eventually Dharmaj were all out for 176 in 37th over.

In reply Friends United reverted back to their old opening combination of Nirmal Ramgi and Piyush Vanraj and they didn’t disappoint as they started scoring at 5 an over to record first 50 opening partnership of the season for Friends United. Both openers took bowling apart as they hit shots all around the ground and Dharmaj were left searching for an opening. They took the score to 61 without loss in 12th over when a low ball which didn’t rise at all accounted for Piyush (24 runs from 31 balls). Ramesh Magan and Sudhir then soon followed but Nirmal carried on at one end. Some quick runs by Jigar gave Nirmal some good support as he reached 51 but then he gave his wicket away as he was getting tired due to illness. Jigar (14 runs from 16 balls) then got run out trying to take risky single but Kirit Mohane (19 runs) and Dinesh Carsane (20 from 15 balls) took Friends United closer to victory as they needed 1 run from last over but some good bowling by Devang Amin accounted for both of them and then some tension as Yogesh couldn’t get away for a single required for win. So it was down to 1 run from 1 ball but captain Yogesh Nagpal stayed calmed as he hit last bowl towards mid-on and ran like a train to complete the single and a memorable win.
