On another cloudy day in London, Friends United’s bowling attack was at its devastating best, ruthlessly dismantling Muktajivan 2nd XI to effectively finish the match before it had even truly begun. Spearheaded by an unforgettable, fiery spell from Ramji Bagoane, Friends United made light work of the opposition in a thoroughly one-sided affair.

A Bowling Masterclass and a Historic Hat-Trick
Despite losing their third consecutive toss, Friends United were asked to bowl first on a good-looking pitch—a decision Muktajivan would immediately regret.

Ramji Bagoane, who has bowled with serious pace all season without much luck, finally got his just rewards. After sending his very first delivery wide, he quickly recalibrated and delivered a masterclass in aggressive fast bowling. On the final ball of his opening over, he shattered the opener's stumps. At the other end, Kiran maintained his remarkable streak of taking a wicket in his first over for the third consecutive match, striking with his fifth delivery. To compound Muktajivan's misery, their captain, Hemant, was run out following a disastrous mix-up.

The crowning moment of the match came in Ramji’s second over (the third of the innings). Steaming in with serious pace, he knocked over two quick wickets to complete a spectacular hat-trick—his first of the season and the first for Friends United this year.

From that point, it was a complete procession. Ramji continued to pick up wickets for fun, completing a stunning five-wicket haul by his sixth over, finishing with incredible figures of 5 for 16. Nikhil efficiently cleaned up the tail with two wickets of his own, bowling Muktajivan 2nd XI out for a paltry 30 runs in just 13.1 overs.

A Ruthless Chase Amidst Rain Threats
With rain clouds gathering, Friends United opted to skip the tea break to ensure a result. Captain Piyush and Nirmal opened the innings. Nirmal started brightly, stroking a superb shot that pulled up just short of the boundary for three runs.

Piyush, looking to find his rhythm after a tough run of form, played cautiously at first, defending his opening five deliveries against some lovely in-swingers from Muktajivan’s Kirit. At the other end, Nirmal showed tremendous grit; after taking his eye off a sharp bouncer and taking a painful blow to the chest, he simply took a sip of water and bravely carried on.

Following Nirmal's eventual dismissal to a new bowler, Sejil arrived at the crease. With the rain beginning to feel imminent, Captain Piyush decided it was time to end proceedings swiftly. Shaking off his earlier caution, Piyush struck two decisive boundaries to comfortably chase down the target and seal a comprehensive victory.
