Clinical Win against Muktajivan II
09 Jun 2011
On another cloudy day in London, Friends United bowling came to its bullying best as they finished the match before it even started.
Muktajivan 2nd XI won the toss on good looking pitch and decided to bat first. It was Friends United’s 3rd consecutive toss loss. Ramji Bagoane who has bowled with some serious pace without much luck this season started the demolition job in the first over. He bowled first bowl wide but from then on it was some serious stuff, in the last ball of the match he bowled opener and claimed first of his five victims and also first of the hat trick. Muktajivan captain Hemant got run out in a mix up. On other hand Kiran who opened from other hand took wicket with his 5th ball to keep going his run of taking wicket in his first over for last 3 matches now.
In the next over 3rd over of the inning and 2nd over of Ramji, came some serious pace as Ramji knocked off two quick wickets and claimed a first Hat Trick of the season for himself as well as first of the season for Friends United.
It was all-downhill from there for Muktajivan 2nd XI as Ramji kept picking up wickets for fun. He claimed his first 5 wickets haul of the season in his 6th over. Nikhil claimed another 2 and the inning ended in 13.1 overs at score of 30 all out.
Friends United decided not to take tea brake as there was some rain in the air. Nirmal and captain Piyush opened the inning. The first shot Nirmal hit was a superb shot but ball just stopped before boundary and they ran 3 runs, which bought Piyush on stike who has not been in greatest of form this season. He defended the first 5 balls he faced. Nirmal kept on going at the other end. Kirit balled some lovely in-swingers and nearly had wicket of Piyush.
Nirmal took his eye of the ball to a bouncer and got his on the chest but strong boy he is, he has some water and then carried on. He got out to a new bowler and that bought Sejil on the crease. With some rain in the air captain decided to finish off the game quickly rather then going off and he hit two fours to close the game.
Man of the Match: RAMJI BAGOANE (HAT TRICK AS WELL and 5 for 16 runs in 6 overs)
Match Report: Piyush Vanraj
