Match report Friends United defeated listless Shivam CC at North Acton by huge margin to put their promotion place chase firmly in their own hand.

Friends United captain Piyush lost the toss once again as Shivam decided to field on overcast day. Friends United inning begin well as they scored 18 in first 3 overs but a stopped shot from Nirmal Ramgi meant they lost their first wicket on that score and Piyush Vanraj soon followed as a bottom edge pop up to short leg. Dilesh Narotam (26 runs from 40 balls) and Ramesh Magan (21 runs from 45 balls) built a slow but steady partnership but a loose shot from Ramesh just before break meant Friends United inning was on unbalanced ground. Jigar Vassantlal then built a good small partnership with Dilesh but then Dilesh lost his wicket to a nothing shot. Then after Friends United lost 4 quick wickets as Jigar was trying to get a partnership going. Friends United were 128/8 and with 9 overs left Dinesh Carsane (26 runs from 21 balls) had brilliant partnership with Jigar as they took the score to 176/8 in 40 overs. Jigar top scored with 29 runs not out of 48 balls.

In reply Friends United opening bowler Ramesh Magan took a wicket in his first ball of the match as Shivam in-form batsman Jaspal edged to keeper and then on it was all Friends United as Shivam struggled for runs. Hilpesh Pravincumar (previously of Friends United) hold the procession for little while longer with 16 runs but with Kirit Mohane and Sudhir as well as Ramesh in good bowling form meant Shivam were all out for 78 in 26 overs.

Friends United won the game by 98 runs and have 100 points from first 7 games now.
