Scores: Friends United 203/10 in 39.3 overs beat Young Puthoharis 137/10 in 30 overs by 66 runs

A superb inning by Friends United’s Jigar Vassantlal (65 not out) saved the day for Friends United as they beat Young Puthoharis at North Acton. Young Puthoharis won the toss and under overcast condition they put Friends United in first. Young’s Shahil Shennoy bowled superbly to take 3 early wickets as Friends United lost 4 quick wickets. Friends United were 49-5 after 15 overs and there were doubts if they be able to cross 100 but then come 6th wicket partnership between Jigar Vassantlal and Vivek Rameshchandra (20 runs) as they put on 51 to steady the inning. After Vivek departed Jigar Vassantlal has another excellent partnership with skipper Yogesh Nagpal as they put on 45 for the 8th wicket. Jigar remained not out as he managed to guide his team to an excellent score of 203.

In reply Friends United opening bowler Ramji Bagoane and Nikhil Vaja started well as they took wicket each to reduce Young Puthoharis to 20-2 after 8 overs. But in the 5th over of his spell Ramji pulled his thigh muscle and he had to be replaced. Nikhil bowled a superb spell of 8 overs to take 2 wickets. Young Puthoharis were down to 45-4 after 16 overs. Then some excellent bowling by Yogesh Nagpal and Sejil Ramniclal kept the Young’s inning in check but their batsman did hit some quick runs to give a scare to Friends United. But Hilpesh Pravincumar despite some early blows took 3/22 in 4 overs to end Young’s inning and give 3rd win of the league to Friends United as they moved to 2nd in the table.
